Harmony House is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and works in partnership with the Local Authority, Community and Voluntary organisations in delivering a range of community based services and projects. For several years we have been at the forefront of support to the community through various projects targeting all age groups.

Silvernet aims to be network of Get Together Groups providing opportunities for isolated and lonely residents of Barking and Dagenham to make new friends and increase social contact and improve their safety and ability to remain independent. These groups provide lunch, refreshments, creative activities and games, skill sharing, informative talks and entertainment to the participants. Silvernet also provides other services which include Computer clubs for the elderly, telephone befriending, help with practical everyday jobs like housework, laundry, gardening decorating, small handy man jobs etc.

Get Together Groups

For isolated vulnerable residents who live in Barking and Dagenham. The aim of the groups is to get together, have a chat, make friends, take part in activities, bingo, crafts and exercises. We also have many representatives who come along to offer support and advice and make everyone aware of what is happening in the Borough. Refreshments and cooked lunch are provided. Transport can be arranged for residents who cannot arrange their own. A fee is charged for attending.

Harmony House Companions

A befriender will visit you once every fortnight to enjoy a chat and provide a listening ear or perhaps support you to get out and about in your local community.

Job 2 Do

One of the main needs of vulnerable residents of the Borough is the assistance of reliable qualified people to assist them with specialist jobs around their homes. We can assist with odd jobs like changing light bulbs, moving furniture, small painting and decorating, Gardening etc for the elderly and disabled residents of the Borough. The service is charged but the charges are much lower and the team which provides the service are police checked.

Computer Clubs (Silver Surfers Club)

Our aim is to help adults become computer literate by learning the basics of computers, browse the internet, share information and keep abreast of the latest computer developments for their personal use and enjoyment.
